Literature Text

Crona was running through the forest. She could hear the howls of the wolf behind her. She had to keep running though.

The wolf leapt out of the trees beside her, it was twice as big now. It bared it gleaming white knife like teeth as its golden eyes glared at her as it chased her.

Cronas basket was long gone. So were her knives. But she kept running despite her huge disadvantage. She had to get out of the forest, no matter what.

The wolf snarled as it bounded behind her. It had slobber coming out of its mouth as it chased her, Crona knew it was hungry for blood, her blood. She could see it in it's gleaming evil eyes.

She could see a light up ahead. She then started hearing a voice.

"Are you alright, miss?" The voice sounded concerned but she didn't know where it was coming from.

She kept running and before she knew it, the scenery was starting to disappear, and the wolf was starting to shrink. But it jumped and pinned her to the ground. She clenched her eyes shut as it pulled its paw back to slam it down on her throat.

The weight suddenly vanished.

When she opened her eyes, she was on a bed.

She gazed at herself. She was in the same clothes she had left to go to her grandmothers house in, but she was on a bed under a few blankets. There was also a bandage on her head, and her ankle had bandages wrapped around it also.

"Ah, so Miss Sleeping Beauty awakens." A silky voice said.

Crona turned her head around to see a man, a year or two older then her walk in. He was carrying a tray that had a glass of warm milk and some soup on it. He walked towards the bed and placed the tray on the nightstand beside the bed and sat down on a stool.

He had jet black hair but with contrasting white stripes in it. He also had bright golden eyes. The eyes reminded her of the wolf from her dream.

"Who…?" Crona managed to say but couldn't finish her question.

The boy placed a hand on her head and she winced in pain. "You took a strong blow to the head it seems. You were bleeding a bit when I found you. You also seemed to have twisted your ankle." He said.

Crona just stared at him and he chuckled a bit. "Where are my manners? I'm Death the Kid, but everyone calls me Kid." He introduced himself. "And you are?"

Crona looked away, feeling vulnerable under his piercing gaze. "C-Crona….Crona Gorgon." She said.

"Gorgon? I heard that name a few times. Your from the village on the outskirts of the forest aren't you?" He asked.

Crona nodded awkwardly and Kid handed her the glass of milk.

After she had a few sips of the drink he placed it on the tray. "Where's t-the wolf?" She asked.

"Wolf? Well I would presume it got bored and left, wasn't there when I found you." Kid admitted.

"And the b-basket?" She asked.

"Unharmed."

Crona stared at her lap. "May I asked o-one more question?" She requested.

Kid rubbed the back of his neck. "You just did." He pointed out but grinned. "Go ahead, fire away."

Crona titled her head a bit. "W-where am I?"

He shrugged. "In my house. If your wanting the location of it, in the heart of the forest." He said.

Crona froze at that. "In the heart of i-it?" She asked. Kid nodded his head in affirmative. "Isn't that dangerous? W-with that wolf prowling about out there?" She asked.

Kid shrugged. "We have a mutual agreement. The wolf doesn't harm me, I wont shoot it." He grinned. "I have the best aim in the entire land." He said proudly.

Crona nodded weakly. "I h-have to go…" She mumbled as she pulled the blankets off and got off of the bed.

Kid grabbed her. "Whoa, hold it there Crona." He said stopping her.

Cronas cheeks went aflame as he took stood in front of her and gently pushed her onto the bed. "You're not going anywhere until your ankle heals." He said as he began rearranging the pillow so it was perfectly aligned with the bed.

Crona blushed. "B-but, I have to give g-g-grandma Mabaa the basket…" She said.

Kid shook his head. "If you run into trouble, you wont be able to run away with a twisted ankle." He said. "If it makes you feel better, I'll deliver her the basket later today." He said.

Crona looked away.

Kid continued. "But you wont be leaving until you fully heal from your wounds." He said and smiled. "I'll take care of you until then." He assured her.

A streak of crimson overtook Cronas face. "B-but! Everyone will g-get worried if I'm not b-back soon." She argued quietly. "T-they'll assume I'm dead…o-or send search parties." She mumbled.

"Don't worry, I'll have a friend go visit them and tell everyone you're alright." He assured her again. "Just calm down." He laughed a little and moved a strand of her hair behind her ear.

Crona just went red in embarrassment again and Kid smiled. "Well, if you need anything, I'll be close by so just yell." He said. "I would advise that you get some rest." He added.

Crona nodded weakly before turning onto her side and closing her eyes in an attempt to sleep.

After a few minutes Cronas breathing slowed and she was asleep. Kid smiled as he left the room, taking the tray of milk and untouched soup with him.

He placed the soup in a container and eyed the basket before grabbing it. He quickly wrote a note telling Crona he was giving her grandma the basket and left it on the nightstand beside the bed. He then walked out of the door and further into the woods.

It didn't take long before he ran into a white haired red eyed boy his age.

"Hey, Kid! What's up? And what's with the basket?" Soul asked walking up. Souls mate, Maka was right behind him.

"I'm just finishing up a delivery for a friend of mine." Kid said to Soul. He then looked at Maka. "Ah! Just the girl I was looking for!" He said to her.

Maka nodded. "Hi Kid. How are you doing?" She asked.

"Great, I found this girl in the woods. I was wondering if you could go to her village, the one on the outskirts of this forest, and tell them that Crona is just sprained her ankle a bit so will be staying at a friends house till it gets better? Her family is the Gorgons." He said.

Maka nodded and frowned. "Kid, I can tell you didn't just 'find' her. Please tell me that she isn't just going to end up a chew toy for you?"

Kid just grinned as he placed the basket on the ground. "You know I'm not like that Maka, I'm a gentlemen." He said as he crouched down. The next instant, he was a jet black wolf with gleaming yellow eyes.

He barked. 'Besides,'He said to them. 'She's kind of cute.'

With that, he grabbed the basket handle with his teeth and bounded away towards Cronas grandmothers place as Soul and Maka watched.

Soul grinned at Maka. "Think Kid might end up falling in love?" He asked Maka.

Maka was making her way towards the village. "I hope so." She said.

"He probably wont give her up if he does." Soul commented as he followed her.

One question, does Soul and Maka are also wolfes or they are something else, or they are just normal?
